NACIO Members Receive:

  • Access to NACIO’s email listserv, in which participants can solicit helpful information from their peers across the nation about issues in their county.
  • NACIO membership training webinars. Over the past year we have conducted special training webinars that are free to members focusing on professional development topics, best practices and current trends in government communication. Webinars are scheduled to take place quarterly in 2017 and allow members to listen and learn without having to leave their office.
  • Eligibility to participate in NACIO’s annual Awards of Excellence competition at a discounted rate. Winners are recognized at the annual conference of the National Association of Counties and sample press releases are made available for recognition in local media.
  • Added benefits from NACIO's affiliate organization, the National Association of Counties (NACo) including the ability to present and collaborate at national conferences. The NACo Annual Conference is held each July and the annual Legislative Conference is held each March in Washington, D.C. NACIO's affiliation with NACo allows County PIO's to share expertise, network and learn with other county officials throughout the nation.
  • Exposure to other national professional development and training opportunities such as the Certified Public Communicator program at Texas Christian University that NACIO sponsors scholarships for and has a partnership with.  Recently, NACIO has worked with Government Technology and is planning an upcoming webinar with one of their social media experts for NACIO members.
